Yasiel Puig has an immense amount of talent. But as Albert Pujols demonstrated Monday night, the 23-year-old still has a lot to learn.

In the sixth inning of a crosstown matchup between the Los Angeles Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers, David Freese set the stage by hitting a fly ball to Puig in center field. Puig, who never has been shy about showing off his arm, fired the ball to first base in an attempt to catch the Angels’ Erick Aybar napping.

The two exchanged playful finger wags, and the game continued as usual.

That is, until the eighth inning, when Puig was caught flat-footed by the veteran Pujols. Here’s how it all went down.

As if allowing Pujols to tag from first wasn’t bad enough, Puig was mocked by the 14-year major league veteran after the inning for his lazy mishap in center field.

Pujols also had the last laugh, as the Angels cruised to a 5-0 win. Lesson learned, Yasiel?
