The Boston Red Sox’s outfield has a new look with Yoenis Cespedes and Allen Craig recently being acquired from the Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals, respectively.
Cespedes has played left field and Craig has manned right field throughout the season, and Red Sox manager John Farrell plans to keep it that way for the rest of the season.
However, with Cespedes having a cannon of an arm and right field at Fenway Park being so expansive, it might make more sense to move Cespedes to right or center.
“We know the dimensions of our ballpark will have some bearing on our ultimate decision,” Farrell said before Tuesday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds. “But I think it’s important for us right now to make sure that they transition in and maintain a lot of that comfort.
“For the time being and potentially the remainder of the season we’ll keep them in the position that they played previously.”
