Derek Jeter Asked Red Sox Not To Use Bob Sheppard Intro At Fenway Park

The Voice of God will not be heard at Fenway Park.

The Boston Red Sox wanted to honor Derek Jeter by using late New York Yankees announcer Bob Sheppard’s legendary introduction before his at-bats in Boston, but No. 2 politely declined the offer.

A recording of Sheppard’s intro of Jeter was used before every one of his at-bats at Yankee Stadium and during the All-Star Game in Minnesota.
