Some New York Yankees fans are taking Derek Jeter’s retirement harder than others. Very few are taking it harder than Shaun Morash.
Morash is a 27-year-old radio producer and a lifelong Yankees fan. With Jeter set to retire at the end of this weekend’s series in Boston, Morash and all Yankees fans are bracing for life without No. 2. Morash isn’t handling it well.
Morash currently is working for CBS Radio on the “D.A. Show” with Damon Amendolara. Earlier this week, the topic of Jeter’s retirement came up, and Morash couldn’t contain his emotions. Talking about Jeter’s impending retirement, Morash started crying on air while reflecting on Jeter’s career.
Mind you, this audio is from Wednesday. That means it happened even before Jeter’s final game at Yankee Stadium or Jeter’s final game, which is set to happen this weekend in Boston. Morash got emotional Thursday night, apparently, as Jeter hit a walk-off single in his final at-bat in the Bronx.

This isn’t the first time Morash has cried on air, either. He shed some tears earlier this year when the New York Rangers traded Ryan Callahan to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
