Giancarlo Stanton took a baseball off the face Thursday night, but he appears to have avoided serious injury.

The Miami Marlins reported Friday that their slugger likely won’t require surgery, and Stanton tweeted shortly after to give an update on his condition and thank fans for their well-wishes.

Among those offering support was the man who hit Stanton, Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Mike Fiers. Fiers used Twitter to personally apologize to the outfielder after the game.
