Cardinals fans still have a soft spot for Joe Kelly, if the reception upon his return to St. Louis was any indication.

That’s what the team is banking on, anyway.

Two items of game-used memorabilia from the pitcher, who was traded to the Boston Red Sox in a July 31 deadline deal that also involved John Lackey and Allen Craig, went up for auction Tuesday on the Cardinals’ official website.

The bat is one Kelly shattered against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 5, and the ball was fouled off by the right-hander Aug. 6 during his second at-bat against his former team. (Kelly’s first at-bat of that game ended in a base hit off his good friend, Cardinals starter Shelby Miller.)

Bidding for the package opened Tuesday afternoon and had reached $200 by noon Wednesday.

Oh, and if any Red Sox fans are in search of some A.J. Pierzynski merch, the Cardinals can help you out with that, too.
