Patriots Practice Report: Sealver Siliga To Short-Term Injured Reserve?

NFL: New England Patriots at Minnesota VikingsFOXBORO, Mass. — Starting New England Patriots defensive tackle Sealver Siliga might be out for the next eight weeks.

Siliga, who has been nursing an injured foot since Sunday, was not on the Patriots’ practice field for the fourth straight day. He was the only player absent from the Patriots’ 53-man roster and practice squad, and there was a new defensive tackle on the field wearing No. 98.

Since there were 63 players on the field, and Siliga was absent, it appears the third-year pro was either placed on short-term injured reserve or season-ending injured reserve.

Short-term IR keeps players out for eight weeks, so if Siliga was placed on the list, he would be eligible to return on Nov. 23 against the Detroit Lions.

The Patriots travel to take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football. A full injury report will be released around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
