Radamel Falcao hasn’t said much since completing an astonishing move to Manchester United on transfer deadline day.

On Monday, Falcao joined Manchester United from French club AS Monaco in a season-long loan deal that reportedly will cost the Premier League club around £24 million ($39.6 million), according to the Telegraph.

Upon completing the move, Falcao had a standard message for the public, which was published on Manchester United’s website.

“I am delighted to be joining Manchester United on loan this season,” Falcao said. “Manchester United is the biggest club in the world and is clearly determined to get back to the top. I am looking forward to working with Louis van Gaal and contributing to the team’s success at this very exciting period in the club’s history.”

Later, Falcao spoke to MUTV, telling the club’s in-house television station that the move fulfills one of his ambitions.

“For me, it was a dream to play in the Premier League,” Falcao said, according to BeIn Sports. “I always wanted to be here because this league is very good, it has very good teams and Manchester United is the best team in England. Everything is perfect for me.

“I am very happy to be part of this big club. I’ve waited for this moment during a lot of the year.”

Falcao discussed his move to Manchester United the same way any player would speak about joining a new club. But this was no ordinary change of teams.

Falcao joined Monaco from Atletico Madrid for £50 million ($82.3 million) in May 2013. Falcao scored 11 goals in 20 Ligue 1 (French first division) games before an ACL injury ended what ultimately was his only season in France.

It was widely expected that Falcao would move to Real Madrid this season. Falcao even tweeted “Dream come true #halamadrid” to his legions of followers on Saturday before deleting the message, saying it was a “photo montage,” according to the BBC.

Falcao was offered to a host of leading clubs on the weekend before transfer deadline day, and Manchester United won his signature in the end.

Falcao used Twitter to thank his former team, agent Jorge Mendes and his lawyers for pulling off the complicated deal in such a short period of time.

Falcao hasn’t solved the mystery of his loan (and potential future transfer) to Manchester United in his interviews or social media messages. Maybe Falcao’s more comfortable letting his soccer speak for him.
