Dolphins Play Mind Games, Claim Bruce Gaston Off Waivers From Patriots

NCAA Football: Purdue at Penn StateThe Miami Dolphins might be trying to get some last-minute intel on the New England Patriots before Sunday’s Week 1 season opener when the two teams play.

The Dolphins claimed defensive tackle Bruce Gaston off waivers from the Patriots on Thursday, according to the league’s transaction wire. The Patriots cut Gaston on Wednesday — just four days after claiming him from the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

The Dolphins waived defensive back Brandon Ross to make room for Gaston.

There has been a lot of movement between New England and Miami this week. The Patriots claimed safety Don Jones off waivers from the Dolphins on Monday. They also signed former Dolphins running back Marcus Thigpen to their practice squad on Wednesday.

The Dolphins worked out former Patriots wide receiver Jeremy Gallon this week, according to a source.

Defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles, who the Patriots cut on Wednesday, cleared waivers.
