MCGRADY PIERCETracy McGrady gave baseball a chance. Now he’s thinking about a return to basketball.

Yahoo! Sports reported Tuesday night that the former NBA All-Star recently has been working out with Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant. According to McGrady, he’s ponderingĀ a potential comeback to the NBA.

“Yes, I was working out with K.B. to get in shape and see how my body feels,” McGrady told Yahoo! in an email.

The 35-year-old hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2012-13Ā season, when he seemingly finished his career with the San Antonio Spurs. He appeared in six playoff games, didn’t score a point and grabbed eight rebounds. He last appeared in regular-season play in 2011-12, when he played in 52 games for the Atlanta Hawks and averaged just 5.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.

Regardless, McGrady will go on an October basketball tour of China, which should give him a good idea of where his game is after a couple of years away from the hardwood.

“The comeback will not happen, unless I have the drive whenever I get back,” McGrady told Yahoo! in the email.

According to the report, at least two teams contacted McGrady during the summer.

The former lottery pick recently played a stint of independent league baseball with the Atlantic League’s Sugar Land Skeeters.
