Rob GronkowskiFOXBORO, Mass. — Rob Gronkowski is ready for more action after playing just 38 snaps in the New England Patriots’ 33-20 Week 1 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Gronkowski was limited in his first game back from undergoing ACL surgery in January. The big tight end tore his right ACL during the Patriots’ Week 14 win over the Cleveland Browns last season on Dec. 8.

“Yes, definitely,” Gronkowski said Thursday in the Patriots’ locker room when asked if he’s ready for more snaps. “Whatever the coaches have for me out there, whatever the game plan is, when I get my number called, I have to go out there and do my job and perform to the best of my ability.”

Gronkowski looked a bit rusty in his first game back, catching just four passes on 11 targets from Tom Brady. That’s to be expected however, eight months removed from major knee surgery.
