The New England Patriots played nowhere close to their best football Sunday afternoon, but they still were able to leave Gillette Stadium with a win.

Putting the bow on the 16-9 victory was defensive tackle Vince Wilfork, who intercepted Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr in the red zone with 59 seconds remaining.

Carr’s pass bounced off Raiders receiver Denarius Moore and again off cornerback Logan Ryan before falling into the arms of the big man.

The Raiders appeared to have punched in the game-tying touchdown one play earlier, but a holding penalty nullified Darren McFadden’s 6-yard score.
