BOSTON — The Colorado Avalanche thought they had scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period of Monday’s matchup with the Bruins. The officials disagreed.

Avalanche forward Ryan O’Reilly got his stick on a slap shot in front of the Bruins’ Niklas Svedberg, deflecting the puck past the netminder, off the skate of teammate Dennis Everberg and into the Boston net.

Upon video review, however, it was ruled that O’Reilly played the puck with a high stick, negating the goal and preserving the 1-1 tie.
