BC Eagles Open As Underdogs Against NC State Wolfpack

Tyler MurphyThe Boston College Eagles will be looking to improve to 4-2 straight up and ATS this weekend when they hit the road for the first time since Week 1, travelling to North Carolina State to face the Wolfpack on Saturday.

Boston College has held steady since opening the week as a 3.5-point road underdog at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. They are coming off a bye last weekend following a 24-21 Week 5 loss to Colorado State as 6-point betting favorites.

The loss ended a two-game winning streak, SU and ATS, which included a monster 37-31 upset win over USC in Week 3.  The Eagles were victorious in their only other road game this season, 30-7 over Massachusetts, covering as 17-point favorites. Overall, though, Boston College has struggled on the road, going 3-5 SU and ATS in its last eight games away from Alumni Stadium.

The 4-2 Wolfpack have cooled down since opening with four outright wins, 2-2 ATS, losing their last two SU. After falling 56-41 to Florida State two weeks ago, NC State was crushed 41-0 by Clemson in Week 6, failing to cover as underdogs for the first time this season.

Overall, the Wolfpack have been a shaky bet, 4-10 ATS in their last 14, but are 3-1 ATS in their last four games. NC State also holds the edge in recent games against Boston College, 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS in their last four meetings according to the OddsShark College Football Database.

Clemson will be looking to build on its win over the Wolfpack when it takes on Louisville this weekend as 9.5-point favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Tigers have rewarded bettors of late, going 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS in their last four games, while the Cardinals have adjusted well to life in the ACC with a 5-1 SU record this season, 4-2 ATS.

Meanwhile, Florida State will look to remain undefeated when it visits Syracuse as a 23.5-point favorite this weekend. The 5-0 Seminoles topped Wake Forest 43-3 in Week 6, covering a 37-point spread to remain the nation?s top ranked team, but are just 1-5 ATS in their last six games.

The Orange have also struggled, SU and ATS losers in their last three games at home following a pair of outright wins to start the season.
