Bill Belichick shot down the report that said turmoil in the New England Patriots’ locker room led to benching wide receiver Aaron Dobson.
Dobson reportedly had an argument with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, leading to his deactivation in Weeks 3 and 4.
Belichick was asked on Friday during his news conference whether Dobson was benched for disciplinary or football reasons, and the head coach responded “football.”
Belichick was asked directly whether there was an argument between Dobson and McDaniels.
“No,” Belichick said. “And I’ll have a comment on that later.”
The Patriots suited up just three wide receivers on Monday night in their 41-14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
