NFL: Preseason-New England Patriots at New York GiantsApparently, Bill Belichick is in the business of denying reports these days.

The New England Patriots head coach was asked Friday how he would categorize Brandon Browner’s ability to pick up the team’s defense after the Boston Herald reported Thursday — per a source — that the cornerback has had trouble picking up the concepts.

Belichick replied, “Good.”

Belchick was then asked if the Patriots’ decision not to activate Browner, coming off a four-game suspension, on Sunday night against the Cincinnati Bengals was related to his knowledge of the defense or physical condition.

“I don’t think the learning part has been an issue at all,” Belichick said at Gillette Stadium.

Browner missed practice Thursday with an ankle injury after taking part in Wednesday’s walk-through. If Browner can’t take part in Friday’s session, it’s unlikely he’ll play Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.
