Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians has been around football for a long time, so he’s likely seen his fair share of dirty plays.

So it’s saying something that Arians didn’t hesitate to declare Broncos tight end Julius Thomas’ chop block on Cardinals defensive lineman Calais Campbell the dirtiest he’s ever seen.

Thomas caught Campbell with a low hit in the third quarter, which caused Campbell to leave the game with an MCL sprain.

Typically soft-spoken Arizona wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald wasn’t thrilled about the play, either.

Although Thomas was called for a personal foul and a fine could be on the way,  it doesn’t help an Arizona team that already was decimated by injuries at defensive line before the incident.

Adding insult to injury — literally — the Cardinals were forced to watch Thomas scamper into the end zone for two touchdowns. The Broncos went on to win the game 41-20.
