Carmelo AnthonyCarmelo Anthony has reached the postseason in 10 of his 11 seasons in the NBA. However, he’s only advanced to a conference final one time in his career.

It’s therefore difficult to put him in the same class as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant or Kevin Durant, who have all either won a title or played in an NBA Finals. Difficult, that is, if you’re not Anthony himself.

When asked in an ESPN interview how he feels about being viewed as an underrated player, ‘Melo was succinct.

“I think I’m the most underrated superstar that’s out there, but that doesn’t matter to me,” Anthony told ESPN’s Chris Broussard.

Carmelo went on to say that he feels he’s on the same level as LeBron and Durant, even though he hasn’t won a championship.

“I know, personally, I’m there. It doesn’t bother me,” he said. “These (analysts) are all people that maybe never accomplish anything. That just sit back and write articles all day long about what they see. They’re kind of living through us out there on the basketball court.”

So, let’s get this straight. Anthony says he’s underrated but also claims journalists live vicariously through him. Ah, the irony!
