Football is a physically exhausting game, so it’s important for players to stay hydrated.
If that’s what Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin had in mind Sunday, though, we have some bad news — he’s doing it wrong.
After returning a punt in the third quarter against the Arizona Cardinals, Maclin got an extra shove from safety Rashad Johnson just before he went out of bounds. That little boost took Maclin for wild ride, as the wideout went headfirst into a table full of Gatorade before hitting another table behind that.
Not only was Maclin doused in the orange-yellow sports drink, but now the Cardinals’ sideline staff had to completely reset its carefully crafted re-hydration station.
On the bright side, at least Maclin didn’t get laid out by his own teammate. The extra hydration proved to be not enough, however, as the Eagles fell to the Cardinals 24-20.
