Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn is the best left winger in the NHL, and he showed off many of his skills Tuesday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets in completing a Gordie Howe hat trick.
His first-period goal will be shown on highlight reels for weeks. After stealing the puck inside the blue line, Benn kept possession despite three Blue Jackets players doing their best to take it away. He then fired a laser of a shot past goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to double Dallas’ lead.
Before that sensational goal, Benn assisted Tyler Seguin’s first tally of the 2014-15 campaign.
To complete the third Gordie Howe hat trick of his career, Benn fought Nick Foligno.
