11:41 a.m.: The Tennessee Titans are once again without Jake Locker, which means Charlie Whitehurst is under center. It sounds as if rookie Zach Mettenberger might get a shot at some point soon, though.

7:44 a.m.: Speaking of questionable quarterbacks who will be in the lineup, the Oakland Raiders will have Derek Carr in the fold Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.

Carr was listed as questionable with ankle and knee injuries, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning that Carr will get the start in Tony Sparano’s debut as Raiders interim coach.

7:35 a.m.: So much for the suspense surrounding Tom Brady’s ankle injury.

ESPN.com reported early Sunday morning Brady will play against the Buffalo Bills despite being questionable with the balky ankle.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Brady rolled his ankle Friday at practice when he got his feet tangled up with an offensive lineman.

The news isn’t as good for a few other Patriots players, though. Center Bryan Stork, cornerback Brandon Browner and defensive lineman Dominique Easley were all downgraded to out and didn’t make the trip to Buffalo.

7 a.m.: Injuries are starting to take their toll in the NFL.

Players are battling nagging ailments across the league, and that was reflected in just about every injury report leading into Week 6.

Perhaps no injury reports were more notable than the New England Patriots’ final report on Friday afternoon. For the first time all week, quarterback Tom Brady appeared on the list, as he’s apparently dealing with an ankle injury. Brady is listed as questionable, but the Boston Herald reported Saturday that Brady would be making the trip to Buffalo and would do so without a walking boot. However, his status will be closely monitored prior to that Patriots-Bills game.

It’s not a good week for wide receivers. Two of the game’s best wideouts are unlikely to take the field Sunday. Cincinnati Bengals receiver A.J. Green already has been ruled out after reaggravating a toe injury. Meanwhile, Detroit Lions wideout Calvin Johnson is doubtful as he continues to deal with an ankle injury.

In addition to those two superstars, the Jets’ wide receiving situation may once again be a mess. Both Eric Decker and David Nelson are questionable.

We’ll be monitoring those situations and everything else injury-related across the league, so be sure to check back throughout the day for the latest news.
