Brandon LaFellBrandon LaFell made a regrettable wardrobe decision over the weekend. For that, he is sorry.

LaFell created a little bit of a stir during his off weekend when the New England Patriots wide receiver showed up to a high school game at his alma mater wearing a shirt that said “(Expletive) Statistics” on the front.

TMZSports.com reports LaFell’s decision to wear the expletive-laden shirt unsurprisingly didn’t sit well with parents at the game. LaFell eventually apologized for wearing the shirt.

One of LaFell’s representatives explained to TMZSports.com that LaFell forgot he was wearing the shirt and “when he realized his high school was playing, he shot out of the house.”

The rep also insisted LaFell’s shirt choice “Wasn’t a conscious decision to make a statement at all. If he could do it over, he would wear a different shirt.”

Ironically, LaFell’s statistics have been pretty good in his first season with the Patriots. The former Carolina Panthers wideout has 19 catches for 337 yards and three touchdowns.
