Alex Smith, Chandler JonesFOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots didn’t come out of Monday night’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs unscathed.

Offensive tackle Cameron Fleming (finger) and safety Nate Ebner (finger) missed practice Wednesday with injuries suffered during the Patriots’ Week 4 loss. Linebacker Dont’a Hightower (knee) and defensive end Chandler Jones (shoulder) were limited in practice with injuries suffered Monday.

Linebacker Jamie Collins (thigh) and cornerback Alfonzo Dennard (shoulder) also were limited in the Patriots’ walk-through.

Rob Gronkowski (knee) was a full participant in practice for the first time this season.

Defensive end Michael Buchanan, safety Don Jones and offensive lineman Dan Connolly were removed from the injury report.

Fleming and Ebner’s injuries could affect how the Patriots open roster spots for cornerback Brandon Browner and wide receiver Brian Tyms, both of whom returned from four-game suspensions this week and practiced Wednesday. The Patriots have an excess of offensive linemen and safeties, but the team might have to cut a player from a different position if either injured player can’t suit up on Sunday night against the Cincinnati Bengals.
