The New York Jets managed to lose at something even before their “Thursday Night Football” matchup with the New England Patriots.

Both teams used social media to hype up their respective fans hours before the game at Gillette Stadium, and the Patriots went with the classic “Butt Fumble” post on Twitter.

The infamous Butt Fumble, of course, occurred during the Patriots’ 2012 Thanksgiving night blowout at MetLife Stadium, where New England stomped New York 49-19.

The Jets, however, decided to go with a hype video on Facebook. It was a perfectly good idea in theory, but the Jets still made an embarrassing mistake.

If you didn’t catch it, go to the 1:09 mark in the video, where you’ll see a huge typo.

The rivalry will continue Thursday night at 8:25. And if the Jets play as well as they spell, then the Patriots likely will tack another loss onto Gang Green’s 1-5 record.
