A disputed red card during a game in Argentina’s Torneo Federal A (third division) sparked one of the biggest soccer brawls in recent memory.

Wednesday’s game between host Deportivo Roca and visiting Cipolletti was suspended when the teams and some fans began fighting on the field at Luis Maiolino Stadium in Rio Negro.

We don’t know who these minor league players are, but there was major league mayhem on the field. Players from both teams tried to maim their opponents with punches, flying kicks and other violent acts. One player had to be carried off the field and was hospitalized, according to lmneuquen.com.ar.

Eventually, riot police restored order.

Check out the brawl, which starts around the 1:00 mark.

The referee and his assistants ran for cover during the fight. They apparently managed to identify and dismiss six players from each team.
