Report: Rex Ryan Punched Wall In Frustration After Jets’ Historic Loss

Rex RyanThe New York Jets became the first team in NFL history to have at least 40 minutes of possession, more than 200 rushing yards and no turnovers — and still lose a game.

Being on the short end of that stat is aggravating enough to make a man punch a wall — which is exactly what Rex Ryan did Thursday night, according to Newsday, before he spoke with reporters after the Jets’ 27-25 loss to the New England Patriots.

Ryan, whose Jets have lost six consecutive games, was livid after seeing his team crumble on a last-second Nick Folk field goal attempt that the Patriots blocked, securing the victory for the AFC East leaders.

What’s even more frustrating is that the Jets actually played well. Geno Smith completed 20 of his 34 passes and threw for one touchdown, but three TD passes from Tom Brady proved too much for the Jets to handle.
