A classy move from a classy man.

The patches will be available starting Tuesday at the Senators’ pro shop to the first 1,000 fans.

This will be Karlsson’s first season as captain. Last season, Karlsson lead the Senators in scoring with 20 goals, a career high, and 54 assists for 74 points. Karlsson won the Norris Trophy as the league’s top defenseman following the 2011-12 season after he scored 19 goals and added 59 assists.

Karlsson replaced center Jason Spezza as captain after Spezza was dealt to the Dallas Stars during the offeseason.
