It’s a little surprising that John Scott still has a job in the NHL.

The 6-foot-8 enforcer lacks speed, skill and the ability to play at least 10 minutes per game, but the San Jose Sharks decided to sign him over the summer as a free agent to bolster the fourth line.

Scott entered Tuesday night’s game against the Washington Capitals with two goals in 236 career games. He added another to his total in the first period after forcing a turnover, skating past Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik and beating goaltender Braden Holtby with a nice wrist shot.

Scott scoring a goal is so surprising and unexpected that he actually was a worldwide trend on Twitter for a while.
