Stevan Ridley: Trash Talk With Brandon Spikes Will Be ‘In Full Effect’

Brandon SpikesFOXBORO, Mass. — Stevan Ridley’s last civil conversation with Brandon Spikes occurred last week on the phone. The former teammates will do a different kind of talking Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

“It’s gonna be exciting to get out there and talk a little bit of trash with him, because I know he’ll be doing that,” Ridley said Thursday in the New England Patriots’ locker room.

Spikes played with the Patriots from 2010 to 2013 before signing a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills this offseason. Spikes didn’t leave the Patriots on the friendliest terms, so the middle linebacker has been the talk of Gillette Stadium this week.

“It hasn’t started yet, but I know it will be in full effect on Sunday,” Ridley said about the trash talk between he and Spikes. “That wouldn’t be Spikes if it wasn’t. But we’re gonna have fun and play ball, and we have to beat Buffalo.”

Spikes is a captain and the Bills’ play-caller on defense, and he’ll be an intimidating force against Ridley and the Patriots’ run game.
