BOSTON — Joe Morrow’s first NHL goal was extra special.

The Boston Bruins defenseman gave his team a 2-1 lead in the second period of Monday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the team that selected him in the first round of the 2011 draft and traded him to the Dallas Stars in 2013.

Morrow received the puck at the left point and fired a shot toward the Penguins’ net. The puck may have deflected off Penguins defenseman Rob Scuderi.

Monday’s game is the 12th of Morrow’s Bruins career (all this season). The 21-year-old defenseman was acquired from the Dallas Stars as part of the Tyler Seguin trade in July 2013.
