OregonIt might be a long several weeks for college football teams fighting for a playoff spot.

The playoff rankings released Tuesday night by a 12-member selection committee already feature a change in the top four teams, as Oregon slides into the No. 4 spot to replace Ole Miss. The Rebels drop to No. 11 in the Top 25 after falling to No. 3 Auburn on Saturday for their second straight loss.

The top two playoff spots remain unchanged, as Mississippi State and Florida State both pulled out wins to maintain their undefeated records. Alabama bumps up to the No. 5 spot previously held by Oregon after getting the weekend off, while Arizona State vaults into the top 10 at No. 9 following a win over No. 17 Utah.

Six weeks still are left before the committee releases its final rankings, and next Tuesday’s Top 25 should see another major shakeup, as six contests this weekend will pit two ranked teams against each other.
