Johnny Manziel Was Snubbed By Tiger Woods For An Autograph As A Child

Johnny ManzielEverything might seem like sunshine and rainbows for Johnny Manziel these days, but the Cleveland Browns backup quarterback has experienced at least one dark moment in an otherwise glamorous life.

Manziel, a recent Golf Digest cover boy, took us back to the days of his youth when he was on vacation with his family in Orlando and he approached his idol, Tiger Woods, for an autograph at the 16th hole.

In a profile for the magazine, the polarizing QB recalls Woods telling him to come find him after the 18th hole, so he waited about 100 yards away from the green. But when Woods drove by in a cart, he wore his hat low and said, “No autographs today,” while simultaneously shattering little Johnny’s world.

Manziel admits to being upset about it at the time, but he said he now completely understands Tiger’s situation.

“I’m sure there are stories about me,” Manziel said. “Maybe not in the same fashion, but maybe someone has asked, ‘Hey, can I take a picture with you?’ And I say, ‘Sure, I’m gonna use the restroom, and I’ll be right back.’ Then, something comes up. If I ever run into Tiger at Nike or somewhere, it’ll be a funny story.”
