Clayton KershawThe 2014 baseball season officially is in the books, which means one thing: It’s time for awards.

The Baseball Writers’ Association of America on Tuesday revealed its finalists for baseball’s four major awards — Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, Cy Young and Most Valuable Player — in each league.

Not surprisingly, no Boston Red Sox players made the cut after a disappointing season for the 2013 World Series champs. It was far from a disappointing season for Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw, however, and he’s up for both the Cy Young and MVP awards in the National League. Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander was the last pitcher to take home both awards, in 2011.

The winners of each award will be announced next week, beginning with the Rookies of the Year on Nov. 10 and ending with the MVPs on Nov. 13. Check out the finalists from the American and National Leagues below.
