MLS Fines Jermaine Jones For Diving In Revolution’s Playoff Win Over Crew

Jermaine Jones and Justin MeramNEW YORK — The MLS has fined New England Revolution midfielder Jermaine Jones for diving.

Jones fell to the field in the 70th minute of a playoff game against the Columbus Crew on Saturday. Crew defender Waylon Francis raised an elbow but did not appear to strike Jones forcefully before he went down.

The amount of the fine was not disclosed.

The Revolution and Crew are in the midst of a two-game, aggregate goal playoff series. The Revolution lead 4-2. Game 2 is Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
