Not many people were thankful for the Washington Redskins’ Twitter account on Thanksgiving.

The team received plenty of backlash after sending out this tone-deaf tweet on Thursday morning:

With so much controversy surrounding the team name and logo, it might have been a good day for Washington to sit this one out. Many have urged the Redskins to change their name, but owner Dan Snyder has been resolute about not changing it.

The reaction to the tweet was largely negative, but Redskins spokesman Tony Wyllie declined to comment on the responses, according to The Washington Post.

“I’m not aware of any backlash,” Wylie said. “That’s news to me.”
