The Philadelphia 76ers have hit a new low.
In October, pizza chain Papa John’s announced a promotion where fans would receive 50 percent off their online orders the day after a Sixers win. However, Philadelphia has yet to win a game, so the restaurant had to, well, tweak the deal a little, as seen in this email received by CrossingBroad.com.
That’s right. The Sixers suffered a 101-90 loss to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, but they scored 90 points, so fans get the discount anyway.
Sixers fans will likely want to drown their sorrows in a lot of pizza this season, as it looks as though they won’t even be able to contend in an Atlantic Division that has the 4-6 Celtics sitting in second place as of Thursday. People are even pondering whether the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team could beat the Sixers.
