Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin Puts End To His Kickoff Team’s Dance Routine

Mike TomlinThe Pittsburgh Steelers kickoff team just wants to dance, but head coach Mike Tomlin just wants them to stop.

Tomlin announced Wednesday that he’s told his kickoff team to quit it when it comes to the on-field dancing. The unit would dance prior to the kicks in the past, but that’s all done after Jacoby Jones and the Baltimore Ravens took a kickoff back for a touchdown last week.

“Quite frankly, (it) was ridiculous,” Tomlin told reporters Wednesday via CBSSports.com. “Guys dancing around and so forth before the ball is kicked and then getting one run back on them is unacceptable.

“You won’t see our kickoff team dancing anymore.”

You have to give Tomlin credit for trying to fix the issue. However, you wonder whether he might have been better off just getting in Jones’ way on the kickoff. You know, like he did last season, in a move that got him fined by the NFL.
