Eric Berry might have a long road to recovery ahead of him, but the Tennessee Volunteers are making sure that he’s not alone along the way.

The Kansas City Chiefs safety and Tennessee alum is believed to have lymphoma after doctors discovered a mass in his chest, so the Vols showed their support with special decals on their helmets during Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt.

The “VFL” assures that Berry is a “Vol For Life.”

Berry is still undergoing tests to determine an exact diagnosis, but the Chiefs placed him on the non-football injury list, and he’ll miss the remainder of the season despite the fact that he wanted to play this Sunday.

As for the Vols, the decal must have given them some of that Berry strength, and they went on to beat the Commodores 24-17.
