Bill Belichick had some choice words for local meteorologists before the New England Patriots’ matchup against the Denver Broncos, and now the weather people are firing back.

With snow in Sunday’s forecast, the Patriots head coach said Friday that he doesn’t lend too much credence to New England weather reports long before a game, adding he’d “bet a lot that they’re wrong.” Belichick referenced the previous week’s game against the Chicago Bears at Gillette Stadium, where the forecast called for a 100 percent chance of rain, but “the only water (he) saw was on the Gatorade table.”

The folks at The Weather Channel didn’t take to kindly to Belichick’s “fighting words,” so they decided to show how accurate their forecasts were for all of Sunday’s NFL games.

While The Weather Channel did manage to correctly predict the temperatures for most games within a couple of degrees, they kind of missed the mark on Belichick’s argument, which focused on the unpredictable New England weather. But because this is far from a serious argument, we’ll let it slide this time.
