BOSTON — The Bruins recalled forward Matt Lindblad from the Providence Bruins on an emergency basis Monday.

Boston needed a 12th forward for Monday night’s divisional game against the Detroit Red Wings because winger Matt Fraser was claimed off of the waiver wire by the Edmonton Oilers earlier in the day.

Lindblad has tallied 12 points (six goals, six assists) in 29 games for the P-Bruins this season. He’s scoreless in three career games with Boston, including one this season.

The 24-year-old forward likely will skate at left wing on the fourth line. The Bruins used a Matt Fraser-Craig Cunningham-Seth Griffith trio during Monday’s morning skate.
