The Boston Bruins couldn’t capitalize on two early power plays against the Anaheim Ducks on Monday night, but they were highly effective both times they had the man advantage.

The B’s recorded five shots on net during their first try and added two more in their second attempt. They tried to get some bodies up front in order to screen the goaltender and get deflections.

The effectiveness of the power play helped the Bruins carry the momentum throughout the first period as they outshot the Ducks 13-7 in the first frame.
