Finland’s two goaltenders put on a show Tuesday night in Nashville, where Pekka Rinne propelled the Predators to a 3-2 shootout win over countryman Tuukka Rask and the Boston Bruins.

Offense was hard to come by, as both goaltenders made at least 33 saves and kept their teams in the game with fantastic stops in the third period and overtime.

Here are the “3 Stars” from Bruins-Predators:

No. 3 Star: Shea Weber, Defenseman, Predators

Weber picked up a primary assist on Mike Fisher’s power-play goal in the second period. He also tallied a team-high four shots, two hits and finished second among all players with 29:41 of ice time (4:16 on the power play, 3:30 on the penalty kill).

The Predators captain was on the ice for 27 shots for and 19 against for a plus-8 Corsi, the best mark among Nashville defensemen.

No. 2 Star: Tuukka Rask, Goaltender, Bruins

The Bruins would not have earned a point from this game without stellar goaltending from Rask. The reigning Vezina Trophy winner tied a season high with 38 saves on 40 shots against for a .950 save percentage, including 19 stops on 20 shots in the third period and overtime combined.

Rask now has given up two goals or fewer in six of his last 10 games, but the Bruins still haven’t been able to pick up many points in that span.

No. 1 Star: Pekka Rinne, Goaltender, Predators

Rinne stopped all three Bruins attempts in the shootout to earn his NHL-leading 20th victory. He also made 33 saves on 35 shot attempts for a .943 save percentage. His four saves during 4-on-5 play helped Nashville’s penalty kill go a perfect 3-for-3.

Rinne leads the league with a .937 save percentage and a 1.76 goals against average. He’s allowed two goals or fewer in each of his last five starts.
