It took him just over 18 and a half periods, but Craig Cunningham finally has his first NHL point.

The Boston Bruins rookie, playing in his seventh game with the B’s, took a long pass from Zdeno Chara during the first period Saturday afternoon and fired a shot between the legs of Ottawa Senators goaltender Robin Lehner.

The shorthanded tally put the Bruins up 1-0 against a Senators squad that entered the game having lost six of its last seven contests.
