Celtics Holiday Wish List: Rajon Rondo Left Team With Plenty Of Needs

jeff greenChristmas came early for the Dallas Mavericks this year.

The Mavs pulled off the biggest trade of the young NBA season last week, parting ways with three players and two draft picks to pry Rajon Rondo from the Boston Celtics.

For Dallas, the deal gave an already loaded team an even better shot at contending in an equally stacked Western Conference. For Boston, it triggered a whole new round of rebuilding.

It’s difficult to predict exactly where the Celtics will go from here. Will they jettison their remaining veteran pieces in another descent to the bottom of the NBA standings? Will they stand pat and wait to sort things out in free agency? The former definitely seems more likely.
