Jon LesterThe 2014 Major League Baseball winter meetings were busy, emotional and entertaining. The event also might be remembered as the point at which several franchises officially reversed their fortunes.

The Jon Lester sweepstakes engulfed everyone at the meetings in San Diego, as most of the starting pitching market remained at a standstill until the left-hander made his decision. Lester’s huge deal with the Chicago Cubs wasn’t the only important storyline and transaction, though.
