Seeing Paul Pierce in anything other than Celtic green still is an odd sight for Boston fans. As is watching Rajon Rondo suit up for the Dallas Mavericks.

Seeing them take the court against each other for their respective new teams is, well, just plain bizarre.

Rondo’s MavericksĀ hosted Pierce and the Washington Wizards on Tuesday, and the younger ex-Celtic came out on top both on the scoreboard and in the highlight reels.

Rondo’s final stat line of 11 points, five assists and one rebound wasn’t anything special — in fact, it might have been his worst since joining the MavsĀ — but he did get the better of Pierce with this nifty reverse layup just four minutes into the game.

Dallas ended up handing Washington its largest loss of the season, winning by a final score 114-87.
