The Boston Red Sox didn’t waste any time in making a splash this offseason. More splashes likely will follow.

The Red Sox signed Pablo Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez to long-term contracts last week, creating some interesting Thanksgiving chatter for fans across New England. Boston still has plenty of questions to answer before Opening Day, though, and business could pick up sooner rather than later.

The Major League Baseball winter meetings are set to kick off Monday in San Diego. The Red Sox figure to be among the most active squads, as they still need to build a starting rotation. General manager Ben Cherington last week didn’t rule out adding as many as three starters this offseason.

NESN.com Red Sox beat writer Ricky Doyle and MassLive.com Red Sox beat writer Jason Mastrodonato chatted about a whole bunch of offseason topics Wednesday afternoon. Check out their sizzling takes below.
