The award for best DeflateGate joke belongs to Andrew Luck, and it wasn’t even intentional.

The Indianapolis Colts quarterback has taken to his talents to the Pro Bowl after his season came to an end with a lopsided 45-7 loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. Luck spoke with media after he was drafted first overall, but even he couldn’t avoid making a reference to the biggest controversy in the NFL this week when reporters asked how he was feeling following the loss.

“The energy is sort of sucked out of you, you do feel deflated,” Luck told reporters, per ESPN Boston.

It took a minute for Luck to realize what he had said, but once it all clicked, he had the most Luck-esque response.

“Aww, shoot,” he said.

What did you expect? This is the same guy who uses “Lord of the Rings” audibles and reads books about the history of concrete in his spare time.

Here’s video of the exchange:

Luck went on to say that the media is making too much out of this story, while praising the Pats as a whole.

“I don’t know. Things in the media tend to be blown out of proportion a little bit,” he said. “It’s the nature in where we are today in society. You can’t take anything away from them being a heck of a team and they are a good football team.”
