Bill Belichick: Brandon Browner, Ex-Seahawks Can Give Patriots Insight

Super Bowl XLIX is incredibly evenly matched, but the New England Patriots hold one distinct advantage.

New England has four former Seahawks on its roster, while Seattle only has one former Patriots player. That obviously won’t decide the game, but Patriots head coach Bill Belichick seems to think it could help.

“Well, certainly what we see and what they’re doing now is important, but I’m sure that they can — they played with those guys, they certainly can give us some insight into some specifics about them,” Belichick said Tuesday during a conference call with the media.

Patriots cornerback Brandon Browner is the longest-tenured former Seahawk on the roster, having played in Seattle from 2011 to 2013. Defensive tackle Alan Branch played for the Seahawks in 2011 and 2012, and defensive tackle Sealver Siliga and practice-squad offensive lineman Caylin Hauptmann were with Seattle during part of the 2013 season.

Defensive tackle Landon Cohen is the lone former Patriot on the Seahawks’ roster. Cohen spent parts of the 2010 and 2011 seasons with New England.
