One of the biggest blizzards in recent memory crushed Boston and the rest of New England on Tuesday, leading someone to take special care of one of the city’s historic landmarks.

Snow and heavy winds battered eastern Massachusetts from the Cape and the islands all the way to Worcester. Clean-up efforts were still ongoing Wednesday morning, but someone made sure to do their own snow removal on Boylston Street in Boston — specifically, the Boston Marathon finish line.

Before clean-up crews could hit Boylston, someone took a shovel to the finish line to clear it off and make sure it was still visible.

What’s still unknown is the identity of the good citizen who cleared off the finish line. The hashtag “#WhoShoveledTheFinishLine” was being used Wednesday morning to try and locate the shoveler.

Perhaps now is a good time to remind you Marathon Monday is “only” 81 days away.
